The new Jet Black color for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is sure to be extremely popular as beautiful as it is, but according to Apple’s website, you shouldn’t get one if you hate scuff marks.
Apple just posted details of the new iPhones on its website and promotes the high-gloss finish. However, if you scroll all the way to the bottom and read the fine print, Apple admits the device is more susceptible to “fine micro-abrasions,” or scratches.
The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodisation and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodised Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.
If you decide to get the Jet Black finish, like me, make sure you protect your investment with a case.
