For weeks now, rumours have circulated everywhere that Apple will release its next iPhone (whatever it may be called) without the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. This has everyone upset that they will no longer be able to use their old ear buds or headphones and will be forced into purchasing new Lightning headphones, a Bluetooth adapter or possibly even Bluetooth Headphones.
Well, a photo has emerged of a Lightning to 3.5mm audio adapter that would allow you to use your cherished ear buds with the new iPhone.
This photo comes to us from a Foxconn factory based in Vietnam, and they were published by Tinhte.vn Despite their origins, they are believed to be authentic.
Here is a video of the adapter in use.
Someone asked me ‘What if I want to charge my iPhone and listen to music?’. Well, I’m sure Apple will have an adapter for that! (Extra charges may apply.)
Finally, this is a rumour so we must treat it as such, but it sounds fairly legit to me. We’ll all know come the first week of Sept.
