Seems like just yesterday I was considering my very first iPhone. But the date was actually June 29, 2007. This is when Apple introduced the world to the first generation iPhone.
That first generation iPhone sold 6.1 Million units.
Fast forward to today, July 27, 2016 and Apple has sold another 993,900,000 iPhones making todays sale the 1 Billionth iPhone sold!
In 2017, Apple will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and the company is going all out. If rumours are correct, the 2017 iPhone will introduce some incredible design changes, such as, an all glass body and an edge-to-edge display with an integrated camera and Touch ID sensor. Other possible features include wireless charging, a faster A11 Chip and even biometric additions like facial or iris scanning.
In a statement, Cook called the iPhone one of the most world-changing, successful products in history. At yesterday’s earnings call, he stated he believes the iPhone is becoming a device that people can’t live without.
