MacOS Sierra Compatible Mac Models

MacOS Sierra

Apple announced the new MacOS operating system ‘Sierra’ at this weeks WWDC. This new version of macOS, drops support for older Macs, specifically those made in 2007 and 2008.

Below is a list of Macs that are compatible to run macOS Sierra, according to Apple:

MacBook (late 2009 and later)
iMac (late 2009 and later)
MacBook Air (2010 and later)
MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
Mac Mini (2010 and later)
Mac Pro (2010 and later)

If you are using one of the following Macs, El Capitan will be the highest version you can use:

MacBook (late 2008 Aluminum)
MacBook Pro (mid/late 2007)
MacBook Air (late 2008)
Mac mini (early 2009)
iMac (mid 2007)
Mac Pro (early 2008)
